The Teaser

There isn’t really a write this week?  Dan has beaten to me to a harvest blog and Kristen has done the top ten food pairings.  So what do I have?  I do have something.  I have a trip to a friend’s wedding in Italy a week from Saturday.  Being the good friend that I am, I’m taking time off and heading to Europe for short while.  Yes, I know, there is no sympathy for me.

It’s not often that I get to Europe.  I know there is a lot to see and it is easy to spend a week in one area and not really see all that the area has to offer.  However, I am from North America which means that I don’t have a lot of vacation time so it means I have to try and see as much as I can in the shortest amount of time possible.  With that in mind I decided to spend a few days in Champagne and then head to Italy for the wedding.

I plan to visit a few Champagne houses, take in the sites and practice my French (tres mal).  I’ve emailed what feels like every Champagne house in Champagne hoping to make an appointment.  I am pleased to announce that most replied to me … telling me that they are not doing tours or tastings when I am there.  Bummer.  Once I’m done in France it’s off to Italy for an Italian wedding.  I have no idea what to expect but I’m looking forward to it.

Which brings me to where I am now, I have a pretty good plan of what I want to, how I’m going to do it and when I’m going to do it.  I just have to wait for it to happen.  So this is just a teaser … my next blog will be telling you all about my adventures in Europe.
