Actually, the Snooth team had lunch with Dan today, whereupon he left us a bottle of Larkmead Cabernet Sauvignon 2005. We will endeavor to write our reviews in a style worth of the wine...

Just read on Vinography's blog: Luca Turin alleges in his book, The Secret of Scent, “The champagne you're drinking (a major brand) illegally contains traces of a perfume added to each bottle so you’ll remember it and come back.”

Very interesting...

Its hard to be spontaneously literary when reviewing wines. I have nearly 800 logged on snooth, and i already see that i have a tendency to overuse certain words and phrases.

As Blaise Pascal (not Mark Twain) said "I'm sorry this letter is so long, but I did not have time to make it shorter."

It can take a long time to produce a seemingly off the cuff piece of text.

Passionate reviews make a product seem intensely appealing. I've been singling out and writing to some of our users when I see their great reviews. I want them to keep it up. And really, it's only practice that helps us improve. Every resource I've ever read on the subject has the same advice. Get out there, open some bottles and start reviewing!
