My Wines v1.2

posted by mark in Website Updates, Snooth

Since we launched the My Wines section we’ve had our ears to the ground about what else we can do to make the whole process as efficient as possible. Some users were (rightfully) confused about adding a wine to the My Wines section. Before today you had to rate, review, wishlist or cellar the wine to get it onto your wines page.

But there’s another level of interaction, similar to bookmarking a website in your browser. If you want to remember a wine for later (you don’t own any bottles, you haven’t had it yet so you cannot rate it, and you don’t want Aunt Hortense to buy you a bottle) now you can just add it to your My Wines page using the “+My Wines” button pictured below.

Keep track of all your (I’m not sure if this is one of my) favorites. And have a good weekend!

New Features!

Snooth is unavailable for the moment. I’m releasing a really great new feature which you should be able to play with in an hour or so, so we’ll (hopefully) see you then!

Terminal Vino

posted by mark in Wine Industry, Wine

The airport bar is on my list of things to do when I fly. Inevitably I’m rushing to the airport, rushing through security, rushing to the gate only so that I’ll have 5 or 10 more minutes at the bar. That isn’t true, but perhaps now it will be.

Vino Volo is a chain of wine bars popping up in airports. On their website they claim to be geared towards discovery and learning as well. They have tasting charts and also an online storefront where you can purchase the wines they carry. (I wonder how long it will be before there is a Sky Mall for wine lovers — I hope soon!) This seems the perfect thing to add to a hectic travel schedule, that is if they can manage to control the hubbub that seems to be so pervasive in airport terminals.

I know the next time I’m winging through JFK I’ll skip the greasy food and try some airport wine.

Snooth Returns!

posted by mark in Snooth

I’ve brought the site back up after a much shorter maintenance window than expected. I’m still updating wines and checking through things but everything looks good so far.

Also I’ve already launched a surprise new feature. It will be officially announced later today, but for now see if you can find it!
